Bordeaux nestled in south-western France, is a port city on the Garonne and a hub of the famed wine-growing region. With many types of soil, in particular, the gravel clay over the sub-soil of limestone, is very good for grapes plantation. Throughout Bordeaux, the growing region is Merlot-dominated and the grape varietal is mostly selected for blending other types of wine due to its fruit complexity. From this vineyard are fine wine created with subtle sweetness and tannic red to dry white for easy drinking. Besides, the beauty and charm of the country also introduces the Gothic Cathédrale St-André, its many fine and contemporary art museums as well as the 18th- and 19th-century mansions.
