The Mas family has been growing grapes since 1892, with Jean-Claude Mas representing the fourth generation and the first to become a winemaker.
He founded Domaine Paul Mas in 2000, guided by the philosophy “Old World Wines with New World Attitude.”
Blending traditional Languedoc heritage with modern winemaking, Jean-Claude oversees every step—from vineyard to bottling—ensuring consistent quality that earned Paul Mas the title of European Winery of the Year 2020 by Wine Enthusiast.
Region Info/Origin
The vines are rooted in clay-limestone soils with shale and stony, clay soils, producing the best grapes that in turn make the prestigious AOP Limoux and IGP Pays d’Oc wines.
Château Arrogant Frog Red wines are made from Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Malbec, and Syrah, while the white wines are made from Mauzac and Chardonnay – the vines aged between 11 and 33 years are planted to a density of 6000 vines per hectare and yield 45 hl/ha.
