Winery Info/Brand

The founder of the Mousset "empire" was Louis Mousset, who bought Chateau des Fines Roches and made it the centre of his wide spread activities. Chateau Du Bois De La Garde, is also owned by the Mousset along with several other vineyards and domains. The vineyards of Chateau des Finesh Roches cover 53 ha. of Chateauneuf du Pape of which 48 ha. are with red varieties. In 2003 a property of 5,5 ha, Jas de Bressy, was purchased from the Trintignant family. From here a Chateauneuf du Pape quite different from Fines Roches is made. In AOC Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Rhone Villages Vignobles Mousset-Barrot owns Chateau du Bois de la Garde with 63 ha. From here only red and rosé wines are produced. The wines are made in a very big cellar (built in the 1970'ties), situated at Route de Bedarrides (when you turn off to Fines Roches). Here wines are made from 7 different estates belonging to members of the Mousset family. When you walk along the tanks you see the producers' names on them. It's a kind of family co-operative. The wines from each estate are made quite seperately.
