Bordeaux nestled in south-western France, is a port city on the Garonne and a hub of the famed wine-growing region. With many types of soil, in particular, the gravel clay over the sub-soil of limestone, is very good for grapes plantation. Throughout Bordeaux, the growing region is Merlot-dominated and the grape varietal is mostly selected for blending other types of wine due to its fruit complexity.
